Traffic from various countries was re-routed to servers in Japan that couldn't handle so many requests. Within an hour, users from Japan / Asia could experience problems with the DNS service.
At the moment, we are delivering additional servers to Japan, as well as improving the performance of the service to prevent such situations in the future.
